(1544) THE FINAL DEGREE PROJECT AS AN INDICATOR OF THE ACADEMIC COMPETENCIES ACQUIRED

The purpose of the inclusion of the Final Degree Project in Spanish curriculum to adapt them to the requirements of the European Higher Education Area is to evidence if the students have acquired the competencies included in their respective academic degrees. The proper assessment of whether final degree project is a reliable indicator that students have fully completed their training calls for contrasting the competencies required in their development with those acquired in the different subjects taken during the previous years. As a logical starting point, with the single execution of the final degree project, it is not possible to include all the competencies planned as the objective of every subject, but it would be desirable that it would cover those essential ones. This paper aims to analyse if the main competences that are supposed to be achieved with the completion of the final degree project are indeed included in the syllabus of competences of the final degree project subject. This comparison let us know if the curriculum really includes all that should be considered as a representative academic ability acquired in the previous years of the academic degree. This result will be evaluated by contrasting the subject-matters competences in the tourism degree of the Universitat Jaume I with those that are included in the subject final degree project of the same degree.
