摘要

This paper discusses the challenge of faculty development to face an academic environment that isconstantly changing, both conceptually and methodologically, due to the knowledge revolutionprovoked by the growing production of new technology applications. From the perspective of Rogers'Diffusion of Innovation Theory, this study focuses on analysing information about the personalexperiences and behaviours of faculty members involved in learning how to use instructionaltechnology, addressing their reaction to change. The findings indicate the need of a more holisticapproach to faculty development programs in instructional technology, addressing not only technicalskills, but also faculty attitudes toward change and development.
