摘要

The submitted paper aims on introduction of the issue of burnout syndrome. According to current research, the incidence of this phenomenon has increased, so the partial objective is to bring some basic information, which can serve as a preventive measure. The teaching or pedagogical profession is included in the so-called helping professions. An essential feature of helping professions is activity aimed at helping others, on regular and personal contacts with people who meet or respond to their needs, providing help and support. The pedagogical profession is one of the professions where regular interpersonal interactions take place with pupils (and their parents), students, colleagues. Society constantly increases pressure on educators and expects them to actively engage in their work, to expand beyond educational activities, to be emotionally involved in the results and outcomes, and to perceive their profession as a mission. There is a whole range of stressors associated with the teacher's profession. The presented paper will focus on the presentation of the mechanism of stressors leading to burnout syndrome in the pedagogical profession. An important outcome of this paper will be a case report of educator who has his own experience with burnout syndrome.
