Synchronous generators are an essential part of the power system, they perform a number of important tasks related to the production of electrical energy, voltage control and so on. The article deals with the verification of synchronous generator time constants given by manufacturers using by short-circuit currents calculation. The procedure of mathematical dynamic modeling of electromagnetic properties of the synchronous generator was used for this verification. Results obtained by short-circuit current calculation by this approach are compared to results obtained by short-circuit current calculation method using generator time constants.
