Oxygen-dependent enzymes are becoming increasingly relevant in the synthesis of fine chemicals, flavours and fragrances as well as pharmaceutical intermediates. Oxidases are a notable subclass of oxidizing enzymes, which use molecular oxygen either as an oxidant or as an electron acceptor.
