Water demand for industrial and civil activities is increasing day by day, mainly due to population growth and industry development (Vilardi et al., 2017). The preservationof water sources is nowa priority for several Countries, mainly in the South of the world, and in developing and industrialized Countries., Water purification and wastewater treatment generally involve a combination of chemical, physical and biological processes. Their efficiency strongly depend on the quality of the polluted stream, andthe use of complex and expensive technologies are often required to accomplish to the environmental standard.
