摘要

Electrochemical techniques are a valuable instrument for the determination of the effectiveness of anti-corrosion temporary protections applied. The object of this research was to evaluate the WD-40 oil film with additions of organic inhibitor for protection against corrosion. Iron samples were selected to simulate the composition and morphology of historical artifacts and oil as temporary protection a common practice in conservation controls. Electrochemical evaluation showed the utmost protection was oil WD-40 with nicotine as an additive, caffeine also increases film corrosion resistance. Both compounds added as corrosion inhibitors showed a considerable anti-corrosive properties improvement.
