PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an evaluation method and device for graphite of cast iron capable of determining a graphitic texture in cast iron of an inspected body from a determination value set based on a base wave and a harmonic in frequency analysis. PSOLUTION: The evaluation method for graphite of cast iron inspects a cast iron texture of an inspected body 2 in which graphite is dispersed in a matrix structure and cast iron is a base material. The method includes an operation to make an input alternating magnetic field act on the inspected body 2 by flowing an AC current through an excitation section 5, an operation to detect at a detection section 6 an output alternating magnetic field due to an eddy current generating in the inspected body 2 by the input alternating magnetic field, and an analysis operation to frequency-analyze a voltage signal detected by the detection section 6.
