Accurate determination of fan performance is an important part of a mine ventilation survey. Published fan performance curves do not provide this information with the accuracy needed for ventilation models. This paper examines how to gather the data needed to determine the output of the fan and uses two methods to properly evaluate the data. A fan performance curve is then developed based on the test data for use with computer models. A case study is examined.
