This paper presents the Single-sided configurations of the linear electric motor (LEM) that are analyzed for electromagnetic properties. These properties are derived by using the Maxwell equations. The permanent magnet is one of the most vital parameters and has a significant impact on the operation as well as the performance of LEM. In this the air gap between primary and secondary is varied which results in force variation. LEM has several advantages over normal rotary motors i.e. higher power density and good efficiency. The rare earth permanent magnets have a wide range of magnetic properties to meet the requirements of an extensive variety of applications. The LEM configuration is considered for various applications. In this study; the magnetic flux density using different magnets has been calculated and after considering with the specialized software package; i.e. COMSOL Multiphysics based on finite element method analysis with different air gaps has been found.
