The design of cold box in LNG liquefaction process is crucial to the efficient and stable operation in FLNG. In order to accomplish FLNG offshore feasibility study, the adaptability of the whole liquefaction process on the sea should be analyzed using the dynamic simulation method. During the simulation, the dynamic modeling of heat exchanger is much complicated. The general methods for heat exchanger will take much more time to build models and need many design parameters, which is hard in the preliminary design stage of FLNG liquefied process. Based on the above reason, this paper try to propose a simplified method of dynamic modeling for clod box. This method used the simple shell-tube heat exchanger module to calculate the heat transfer and pressure drop in the cold box. By analyzing the thermodynamics and mathematical models, the simplified application of heat exchanger is implemented. It also supplied the efficient approach for the integral dynamic modeling of FLNG liquefaction process.
