IPC-9850 [1]is an Official Proposal of IPC Sub-Committee (5-41). It describes a set of definitions and operational methods that may be used to characterize SMT placement machine performance. Special attention is given to the simultaneous observation of placement process capability and throughput. Once the standard is approved, vendors will be able to report their specifications using well-defined and independently verifiable specifications.
