Status of Experimental and Analytical Thermal-Hydraulic Studies on Severe Accident Events in Fukushima Dai-ichi NPP

摘要

As for the BWR severe accident in the Fukushima Dai-ichi Nuclear Power Plant, in order to clarify a progress of the thermal-hydraulic phenomena in a reactor pressure vessel and to obtain the fundamental data towards extraction of molten debris out of a lower plenum to the outside, and to improve current accident management for the BWR safety, experimental and analytical studies were started in Japan Atomic Energy Agency.
