BUSINESS MATURITY ASSESSMENT MODEL: A PRACTICAL APPROACH FOR IDENTIFYING OPPORTUNITIES FOR SUSTAINABILITY IMPROVEMENT

A questionnaire study of 1182 members from Romanian companies identifies the core components that shape an organization's maturity model and analyzes the relationships that exist among them at the strategic and operational level. The paper addresses how the organization strategies and its operations influence process maturity in Romanian firms, and the degree to which process maturity level plays a role in sustainability improvement. A correlation analysis was employed in order to show the extent to which the key constructs of a maturity model shape process maturity in various companies. The research results show that strong positive correlations between the components account for a higher level of maturity and sustainability improvement.
