In this paper is presented a percussive mechanism electrically actuated with a new operating principle. As opposed to the existent mechanisms (connecting rod, crank, cam or pneumatic mechanism etc.), for the proposed mechanism the rotational movement is transformed in linear movement through a screw-screw nut with a high step and controlled stroke. As an immediately consequence, one can observe the significant reduction of the equipment mass (up to 50%), the augmentation of the impact frequency as well for the percussive as for the roto-percussive, concomitantly with the preservation of the impact energy or even its increasing.
