More than ever, companies find themselves in a dynamic market with changing conditions, technological change and increasing competition. Sustainable industrial enterprises have recognized that the development of employee skills is a key success factor for manufacturing companies. However, it is not the easiest to address this topic with the help of a suitable learning environment. In this paper, the concept frame of the advanced Learning Factory (aLF) is introduced and clarified by a special use case out of the research project A~2LICE (Ambient Assisted Living In Controlled Environments). In combination with the didactic method of serious game it represents an effective way for learning. Thus, with the serious approach of a playful exchange of knowledge, the respective grievances can be resolved.
