Using a subset of the SEG SEAM controlled source electromagnetic (CSEM) data, we attempted to improve the interpretation workflows in a blind test using various available software and interpretation approaches. To avoid bias introduced by any approach due to its inherent and technical limitations, we started with feasibility study to establish the recoverability of the prospect and carefully stepped through 1D, 2.5D, and 3D analyses with seismic and well log data integrated at each stage. Though the true locale of the prospect has not been revealed to the interpreters for comparison, a consistent, plausible result of the hydrocarbon reservoir has been derived.
