摘要

In this work, we present a fiber optic cable designed to transmit high power over many hundred meters in a PoF (Power over Fiber) system. The main purpose is to choose the right fiber type of the cable considering transmitted power, link length and the physical compatibility with the commercial lasers and photovoltaic converters. Theoretical models have been used to design the fiber and then experimental studies were conducted to demonstrate the feasibility to transmit high power for hundred meters in 808 nm using a gradual index 100/125-μm core multimode fiber. The results were compared with the performance of a step index 105/125-μm core multimode fiber evaluated in the same condition.
