Optic/electric hybrid cable has become one of the most popular information transmission media due to its high bandwidth, low bit error rate, high transmission reliability, low cost and easy connection. In this paper, a new solution for optical network construction with high density fiber ribbon optic/electric hybrid cable is proposed. The cable can be used in broadband access network, which can implement signal transmission and power supply simultaneously. Fiber ribbons with different core number can be stacked in the central loose tube in order to increase the fiber density in the cable. Compared with stranded loose tube structure, the cable diameter can be largely reduced if central loose tube structure is adopted so that the duct resources can be saved during cable installation. In addition, semi-dry structure eliminates the messy gel in the cable core to facilitate fiber splicing.
