Implementation of Process Safety Key Performance Indicators in a Large Fertilizer Complex

This paper presents Qatar Fertilizer Company's experience with process safety key performance indicators after one year of data collection from four ammonia, four urea, and one melamine plant In 2011, as part of continuous improvement, Qatar Fertilizer Company (QAFCO) completed a gap analysis between its operational practices and those mandated by OSHA 29 CFR 1910.119 - Process Safety Management of Highly Hazardous Chemicals. This work was divided into two phases. In the first phase the team checked for documentation gaps. The second phase reviewed gaps in the company operational practices in the field.
