摘要

I was overwhelmed with several thoughts and emotions as I worked through the process of preparing and writing this paper. First, reviewing the list of the previous thirty-six lecturers was somewhat intimidating to me. I have admired many of these individuals throughout my professional career and have great respect for each and every one of them. Many of them I consider close friends. I look back and remember vividly many of the Howard Dunne presentations, some of which have had a profound influence on my career. Looking back on the previous lecturers, realizing the skill set and knowledge of these individuals made we wonder why I accepted the responsibility to give this lecture.
