摘要

Spatial Analysis and optional extension to ArcGIS Desktop provides powerful tools for comprehensive raster-based spatial analysis. Remote sensing and geographic information system integration were used. In order to analyse land cover and land use change of Savannakhet province by using Landsat imagery and GIS data. The relation between the remote sensing data and GIS data has been in one direction. Landsat image with 30m spatial resolution multispectral has been used to study for land cover and land use classification. The present study focuses detailed geographical based on theory and practical reality to create a GIS database and analyze information related to changes in land cover and land use. Therefore, ArcGIS advanced raster spatial analysis can be suitable performed digital elevation model (DEM), distance map to main traffic hubs, population density mapping, slop map, soil, geomorphology and distance to residential point. The results can be applied in to the multiple logistic regression model to find the probability land cover and land use change. The study recommended that the government and line agencies concerned should develop policy and strategies to achieve a balanced, coordinated and sustainable development in Savannakhet Province, Lao PDR.
