Review of Avian Wound Management for the Veterinary Technician_

A variety of avian species may be seen with skin wounds in the avian practice. An understanding of avian wound healing and various wound management plans can allow the veterinarian and the veterinary technician to provide a team approach to the healing process. This manuscript will review unique characteristics of avian anatomy, the wound healing process, wound assessment, topical therapies, and bandaging techniques.
