摘要

Improving antigenicity of bacterial, viral, and tumor antigens is of general importance for improving protective antibody and T-cell responses. We have designed a rhamnose (Rha)-cholesterol conjugate which acts as an immunoadjuvant and an antibody recruiting molecule (ARM). Rha-cholesterol is capable of recruiting naturally occurring anti-Rha antibodies and is easily formulated into liposomes in combination with lipidated antigens. The resulting liposomes can be used to target antigens to Fey receptors (FcyR) on antigen presenting cells (APC). The targeting mechanism results in the enhancement in both CD4+ (1,2) and cytotoxic C8+ T-cell priming (3).
