Regioselective monodeprotection of peracetylated carbohydrates: a tool-kit in carbohydrate chemistry

The regioselective deprotection of single hydroxyls in peracetylated mono and disaccharides by enzymatic or chemo-enzymatic strategies can offer an efficient and convenient protocol for the preparation of different glycoderivatives. The introduction of a one-pot enzymatic step by using immobilized biocatalysts obviates the requirement to carry out tedious work-ups and time-consuming purifications.
