Creative debottlenecking project(PPT)

1 A very successful debottlenecking of the plant of nearly 20% was achieved by challenging the status quo and coming up with innovative ways to accomplish the end goal. Key achievements were savings in CAPEX of over $61MM and a shrinkage in implementation schedule by over 12 months.2 For facilities such as ours which are operating in areas where major E&C contractors are not present combined with limited resources within the company, designs are normally done remotely. In many cases because of the constraints mentioned above it is typical to accept the output from the major E&C companies.3 It does pay to challenge the recommendations from engineering studies, as we did. Performing a second check and using peer assist where possible, it is feasible to come up with alternate solutions which can save substantial money.
