摘要

Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS) continues to be the most economically important disease affecting the swine industry. It has become standard practice for infected sow farms to attempt virus elimination using a "load, close, and homogenize" protocol.1 Recently, certain herds have failed to eliminate resident virus. Due to the propensity for viral persistence in lymphoid tissue and the reproductive tract, a proposed reservoir has been vasectomized boars (V-boars).
