Relationships between Subjective and Objective Physical Environmental Factors in Urban Public Spaces

Nowadays, the elements of city life more and more incline to diversification and interactional complication. The basic needs of people have been met, but the comfortable and psychological demands are putting forward higher challenge to the urban comprehensive quality. In order to achieve comfortable physical environment, this paper by applying regression analysis, examines the relationships between subjective and objective evaluation based on the subjective and objective surveys of physical environmental factors in urban public spaces, including temperature, relative humidity, wind speed, sound and light. Meanwhile, this paper integrates the temperature, relative humidity and wind speed into human subjective comfortable evaluation by introducing human comfort index of meteorology, and studies the evaluation of comprehensive environmental performance in urban public spaces by reducing the dimensionality of evaluation factors.
