Study on Photosynthetic Characteristics of Blueberry in Greenhouse

The TPS-1 photosynthesis measurement system was used to study the photo-synthetic characteristics of the blueberry (Vaccinium corymbosum) cultivar 'Bluecrop', in leaf on plants inside and outside a greenhouse. It was shown that the chlorophyll content increased in greenhouse, while light saturation points (LSP) and light compensation points (LCP) were reduced. The diurnal variation of net photosynthetic rate (Pn) demonstrated a clear two-peak curve both inside and outside the greenhouse. Pn in the greenhouse had the highest peak of the day at 8 am, two hours later than outside the greenhouse. Pn for plants in the greenhouse reached the "middy rest" phenomenon two hours earlier than outside the greenhouse, and were at a minimum at 12 noon. The seasonal variation in Pn also appeared as a two-peak curve for plants both inside and outside the greenhouse. Pn reached the annual highest peak in early September.
