Electrical property between on electrode and the tissue on skin influences communication performance of the transcutaneous communication system (TCS). We investigated optimum transmission electrodes by measuring electrode-skin impedance and electrode-tissue impedance in vitro experiments. From the results, a stainless steel electrode and a titanium mesh electrode have the minimum electrode-skin and electrode-tissue impedance and each electrode is a suitable for an external and internal TCS unit respecting.
