This study conducted a single-pulse TMS and EEG experiment during eye-closed resting states. Time-frequency analyses showed phase resetting of alpha (10 Hz) oscillations around the TMS target locations. During TMS of the visual area, alpha phase resetting was transmitted from the visual areas to the motor areas via the frontal areas. This suggests potential bottom-up networks in the resting state.
