This study demonstrates the possibility of integrating several market standalone designs and modeling software programs into an optimized" and sustainable packaging solution. Focusing on a rigid container, this paper presents a case study to apply SolidWorks, ArtiosCAD, Illustrator, CAPE and Walmart score card modeling into a combined design process. Synthesized process and the file format between these software programs are discussed. In part 1, the study deals with the graphics and structure interface between the modules and the software. As a.result of the integration in part 1, the designer is able to place a completed virtual prototype package onto a shelf and transport packaging, allowing designers to visualize packages in realistic shelf context and space utilization in a distribution environment. -In part 2, the study brings materials aspects to the design software and demonstrates how to evaluate the strength of the rigid container and its mechanical resistance to distribution hazards.
