Solid booster propulsion systems are standard for advancing the performance capabilities of a launch vehicle. Solid propulsion can be ignited at first stage ignition or during the ascent of the first stage. The solid fuel ramjet would be ignited during ascent, subsequent to primary stage ignition. Fundamental analysis of a solid fuel ramjet propulsion system is derived to establish the basis for performance characteristics. Foundational is the analytical framework of the ideal liquid propulsion ramjet. A solid fuel ramjet can potentially facilitate a simplified and more economic means of accessing low-earth orbit.
