Turbulent Flow Simulations of a Mixture of Perfect Gases

In this work, the finite-volume flow solver QUADFLOW is extended by applying Reynolds-averaging to the equations governing the flow of a mixture of reacting thermally-perfect gases. The Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations are closed by the Shear Stress Transport turbulence model by Menter to account for the additional terms from the averaging procedure. As an initial step, the effects of turbulence on the species source terms and the species mass diffusion are neglected in this work.
