New transmissions for the John Deere 7R and 8R series Tractors

The 2014 model year updates on the John Deere 7R and 8R tractors will include an additional transmission offering on both series of tractors. This paper covers the concept selection and development of these two new transmissions. Included will be the rationale behind the concept selection, design objectives, shifting, automatic control and efficiency.
