The phenomenon of stochastic resonance (SR) was recently, numerically found to occur in underdamped periodic potentials system [1]. We setup an analog simulation experiment similar to the analog simulation work done earlier to study stochastic nonlinear dynamics [2], to verify the occurrence of SR in periodic potentials. Experimentally, we verify that SR in periodic potentials occur due to the competition between the two dynamical states as the temperature is increased. We discuss our experimental setup and the results obtained in detail.
