MINE MECHANIZATION AND SUPPORT SYSTEM IN UNDERGROUND COAL MINING OF SLOVAKIA

In this paper are evaluations of developement of mine mechanization equipments and innovation of hydraulic steel supports with their all purpose utilization for up/down or horizontal longwall mining methods. The underground production process of coal in Slovakia (the Slovak Republik) is on a perfect technical level with a high share of mechanized mining (in 94 % of all mining areas). The knowledge source based on more as a one hundred conclusives of full mechanized underground coalwalls in Coal Mines in the Slovak Republic (predominantly in Hornonitrianske bane Prievidza, a.s., abbr. HBP, a.s. - Upper Nitra Coal Mines in Prievidza) such as in abroad, e.g. in the Czech Republic, Poland and Turkey. Hornonitrianske bane Prievidza, a.s. is the largest company in the Slovak Republic dedicated to brown coal mining with annual extracted volume of 2.1 - 2.2 milion metric tons. The exploited amount of coal corresponds to the optimal mining capacity and reflects existing domestic opportunities for consumption. The company HBP, a.s. has more subsidiaries such as Mine Novaky, Mine Handlova, etc. such as Mechanization and Electrification Plant which produced advanced mining equipments. To increase the quality of this equipmnets the plant implements ISO 9001 quality management procedures as well. All of this equipments are certified in the State Laboratories in the Slovak Republic or in Czech Republic and they are permitted by the Mining Authority. The mine mechanization create the mine-intensive environment from safe point of view and efficiency of exploitation of the coalface processes. The company HBP, a.s. during last years supported research in clean coal technologies too
