The Zonguldek Coal field is situated on the Western Black Sea coastal region of Turkey, the principal hard coal field in this area of Turkey. The coalfield is operated by state company of TTK. There are five deep mines in the area. In order to explore and produce Coal Bed Methane, TTK tendered two blocks with in its boundaries.Hema Natural Energy Resources A.S. has got operational right of Coal Bed Methane in the whole coalfield.The company has conducted series of surface boreholes. However coal seams in Zonguldak coalfield have low permeabilities. It has been established that methane production is carried out by dewatering seams to reduce reservoir pressure. However most of the coal seams are in Zonguldak coalfield in dry condition. As a result non of the production well can be available for commercial gas production without stimulation technics. Therefore it has been decided to introduce well completion technics which may differ one well to other.An initial reservoir stimulation study of methane production from Amasra CBM-1 well has been carried out for the three target seams and this well stimulation followed by others. Developing and applying multi- seam well completion technology for recovering Coal bed methane is prime aim in Zonguldak coalfield.The stimulation process to be applied to several CBM wells will be reported in this paper and CBM experience in the Zonguldak Coalfield have been summarized..
