摘要

This work reports on the studies carried out with adenine, guanine and their corresponding nucleosides as adequate corrosion inhibitor candidates for steel API 5L X52 in 1M HCl. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy served to perform corrosion testing varying the compounds' concentrations from 5 to 200 volume ppm. A relation was obtained between inhibiting compound candidate concentration and the overall corrosion inhibition efficiency, where 25 ppm appeared as the optimum concentration for all electrochemical systems tested.
