Study of Storage Model in the Video Grid

In the video grid based content delivery networks (CDN) , different functions of storage systems of the central and local servers were analysed for solving the difficulty of deciding the storage capacity of local servers. The climbing rule of local service rate was parsed, which was along with the increasing of relative storage capacity of the local server. The relative storage capacity is the rate of physical storage capacity of the local and central server, denoted as percent format. The economic relative storage capacity of the local server contrasting the central server physical storage capacity was found, which is educed according to the critical point of the local service rate curve, and both of the local service rate and the storage system cost are considered in situations of different film amount and film hot degree distribution. Therefore, the storage model expressed in table format can be used in constructing real video grid systems to guide the storage capacities of the local servers according to different film total number and film hot degree distribution and the central server storage capacity of the video grid.
