RE-USE POTENTIAL OF MUNICIPAL WASTE MANAGEMENT COMPARED TO EXISTING RE-USE

In the waste framework directive 2008/98/EC the European Union established a new priority in managing waste. After the prevention of waste, the preparation for reuse is now the second most important target in this waste hierarchy. In order to implement this new European waste hierarchy a couple of reuse networks have been established in some member states. In these networks used goods from the municipal waste collection were reused after going through a treatment process.
