ODOR COMPOUNDS FROM COMMUNITY-SCALE MSW AEROBIC BIOLOGICAL TREATMENT FACILITY

摘要

This study investigated odor compounds from community-scale MSW areobic biological treatment facilities and assessed the impact to the neighbourhood. The tested case located in Shanghai Chong Ming Island, with a capacity was 0.6-2 tons / day approximately, with the service area was a 4000 resident community 100 m away from the facilities. The facilities included 20 composting units, biofilter pool and sorting area. Chopped straw of 2-5cm length was used as bulking agents. After removing glass and metal debris, the raw municipal solid waste (MSW) was mixed with the bulking agents mixed by the ratio of 10:1 (w/w).
