BIOFUEL: DEVELOPMENT OF A NEW INTEGRATED WASTE TREATMENT PROCESS TO GENERATE LIQUID BIOFUEL AS THE FINAL RESULT

Directive 2009/28/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 April 2009 on the promotion of the use of energy from renewable sources includes ambitious targets for 2020: a 20% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, a 20% improvement in energy efficiency and a 20% share of renewables in overall EU energy consumption. Besides, each Member State must ensure that the share of energy from renewable sources in all forms of transport in 2020 is at least 10 % of the final consumption of energy in transport in that Member State.
