TRACEABILITY OF MUNICIPAL SOLID WASTE AS AN INNOVATIVE APPROACH FOR PROPER AND EFFICIENT INTEGRATED MANAGEMENT ON A REGIONAL SCALE

The purpose of this project is to invest in new technologies that improve the monitoring and the control of all the sectors of municipal wastes with the aim to prevent the illegal traffic and disposal. The project allows a careful and accurate tracking of wastes, from production to disposal. It is possible thanks to an investment in technologies and software that allow to track municipal wastes flows sent for recycling and to track the path of vehicles used to transport through a satellite control systems, and allow to map containers. It will possible to know with precision the path followed by waste, from dumpster to the treatment plant and to understand exactly what, then, is recovered from waste. This project will give a significant contribution to the achievement of the goal set by European directives to begin recovery, by 2020, 50% of total produced waste.
