PUBLIC PERCEPTION AND WILLINGNESS TO PAY ANALYSIS FOR THE IMPROVED WATER QUALITY IN ANKARA, TURKEY

Municipalities are one of the most important authorities that are responsible for providing safe and continuous potable water to public. In order to develop sustainable water management alternatives, the municipalities have to ensure that drinking water quality standards are met and also public opinion on the quality of the supplied water are considered. In addition to health and safety concerns, organoleptic properties, trust in water source and its treatment and distribution system seem to influence the public behavior.
