Education of engineering design in some Japanese universities

In many engineering departments of Japanese universities, education of engineering design is currently taken into the objective of education. One of the reasons is that Japan Accreditation Board for Engineering Education is asking each department to have classes that teach engineering design. In order to respond to this request, New Laboratory Type classes are started in some departments. In this talk, some of the topics given to students in the New Laboratory classes are explained.
