Palliative Surgery for Afferent Loop Obstruction Caused by Peritoneal Recurrence of Gastric Cancer

Palliative bypass operations were performed in six patients with afferent loop obstruction due to peritoneal recurrence of gastric cancer. Median survival time and home stay period after bypass operations were 83 and 30 days, respectively. Surgical treatments did not produce so favorable outcomes except in one patient who received chemotherapy and had survived for 275 days after the bypass operation.
