In crop production it is necessary to keep the pressure at such a level that in the normal case subsoil damaging compaction cannot occur. Model supported indicator concepts are directed towards the potential compaction risk; the development of sensor systems can provide actual decision-making helps because the reaction of the soil during wheeling will be considered, which depends also on soil wetness. Future visions are robots instead of heavy machinery to reduce wheel load drastically.
