Chemical oscillations linked to the metabolic state of fibrosarcoma HT1080 cells have been measured. Interaction with these cells has been suggested'to be possible by means of a properly phased electromagnetic stimulus by a mechanism that has not yet been fully understood. A resting state has been shown to have a periods significantly greater (-180 sec) than that of chemotactic cells (-20 sec)[1]. Chemotactic state, was achieved by this group by'means of low seeding densities and cells were analyzed on a one by one basis. We hypothesized that given this individual behavior, the same effect could be observed by changes in the distribution of parameters that define that cell group. To replicate these findings, we cultured fibrosarcoma HT 1080 cells in a linear chemotactic gradient and exposed them to a pulsed magnetic field with a periods around what had been reported to correspond to chemotaxis (-20s) while observing cells chemotactic behavior by means of video microscopy.
