Potential of regenerative medicine of bone tissue using the autologous umbilical cord and umbilical cord blood

We examined the potential of regenerative medicine of bone tissue using autologous tissues- umbilical cord (UC) and umbilical cord blood (UCB). The ingenious concept of the present study is to use autologous tissues for providing all three components and serum required for regenerative medicine of bone tissue.We have examined the potential of UC and umbilical cord blood UCB as the supply sources [1] which have various advantages, e.g., 1) no invasion to the fetus; and 2) less concerns about ethical and medical safety aspects because the UC and UCB are autologous tissues. This concept is ingenious because three components required for regenerative medicine of bone tissue are provided from autologous tissues-UC and UCB.
